Cake- Frank Sinatra
Album: Fashion Nugget
This is a great band and a great song so have fun with it. There are a
whole lot of special effects that go on during it which I haven't included
but this is the basic song. The chord progression is the same throughout.
Enjoy!
Dm
We know of an ancient radiation that
Gm
haunts dismembered constellations
C A
A faintly glimmering radio station
While Frank Sinatra sings Stormy Weather
The flies and spiders get along together
Cobwebs form on an old skipping record
Beyond the suns that guard this roost
Beyond your flowers of flaming truths
Beyond your latest ad campaigns
An old man sits collecting stamps
In a room all filled with Chinese lamps
He saves what others throw away, he says that he'll be rich someday
We know of an ancient radiation that
haunts dismembered constellations
A faintly glimmering radio station
Solo
We know of an ancient radiation that

The chords can go under the whole song, but they're only played under
a couple verses:
Em C G B7
E-|--0-------0-------3-------2-----
B-|--0-------1-------0-------0-----
G-|--0-------0-------0-------2-----
D-|--2-------2-------0-------1-----
A-|--2-------3-------2-------2-----
E-|--0---------------3-------------
The little riff the elctric guitar plays after the first line of
lyrics:
E-|--2-2h3-3-3-2---
B-|--0-0---0-0-0---
Then they play a riff under the last verse before the solo:
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D-|----------------------------------------------1~--------------------
A-|----------------3~-----------2~-------------------------------------
E-|-0~-----2---3--------2---3----------2-2-1-0-------------------------
The solo:
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|-----------------------0~-------------------------------------------
D-|-------2~-----------------------------------------------------------
A-|-2-2-2-------2---2-2-2-------2---2-2-2-3~--------------3--2--0------
E-|---------------------------------------------3---3-3-3----------3---
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D-|------------------5~------------4~----------------------------------
A-|-----0h2---3sl5-5---------2-0-2-------------------------------------
E-|-3------------------------------------5-55-55-55-555--333333333333--
The rhythm's not right in
here, but you get the idea.
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
A-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
E-|-77777777777777777888888888888887777777-7777-777-7-77-7-7-7---7-----
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|-5-4-2-0------------------------------------------------------------
D-|---------4~---------------------------------------------------------
A-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
Finally, after the break, there's this variation on the earlier riff,
played over and over to fade out:
E-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
B-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
G-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
D-|--------------------------------------------------------------------
A-|----------------3~-----------2~-------------1~----------------------
E-|-0~-----2---3--------2---3----------2---0----------0---2---0--------
Then there's the high end guitar over this in the outro. I have no
idea. If you do, email me. Enjoy!
